Focusing can be simple.

  1. When you have an idea, quickly write it down.
  2. When you feel yourself drifting off, remind yourself of it. Say in your head “drifting”, then pull yourself back.
  3. Write your current task on a piece of paper in front of you. Leave it there until it’s done.
  4. Listening to fast music works. Pantera works.
  5. Stop chatting about bullshit to people.
  6. Stop listening to other people chatting about bullshit to people.
  7. Put your phone face down on the table. Turn it on silent.
  8. Even better, throw your phone in another room or out of the window.
  9. Don’t look at your email.
  10. Concentrate.
